Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

I am selling my home and the title company is requesting a copy of my divorce decree. I do not have a copy but was divorced in 2007 in CA, bought a home in TX in 2009 (was single at the time) , now it is 2015 and they are requesting a copy of the divorce decree. What legal grounds do I have to deny providing this document on the basis that my exwife had nothing to do with my home purchase?

What legal grounds do you have to insist they insure the transaction without a certified document proving you're not still married? You could try and move the transaction to another title company that won't require the decree, but I'm guessing any other TC will make the same requirement. Much easier to get a copy than fight. If you're too busy to get ti yourself, the TC can likely get a service to track it down, but they will charge for it.
