Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My grandmother passed away 17 years ago. At the time, I was told I was in the will and then some time after told one didnt exist. The problem is that it has been 17 years and the remaining children (the husband is deceased) havent received the money. My confusion is, IF there isnt a will, shouldnt they have received it pretty quickly? Could something have held it up for 17 years or is there a will I dont know about that is holding things up.

You can check probate records in the county where your grandmother lived or died. If a will was filed for probate, a copy should be there.
