Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My husband passed in August. Do I have to have the will probated in Texas? I want to pay off the house and car. How will that affect those activities? Both of those (mortgage and loan) are in both our names. The will names me as executor.

I am sorry for your loss.

By all means probate the will. Probate in Texas is not a difficult or very expensive process as it is in other states. Contact a local lawyer. He or she should be able to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear about your spouse. Yes, you should probate the will. It's not expensive, and it's the proper way to handle the estate. Please feel free to call or email me, if you would like to discuss this further.
