Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Payable on death help

My father left several certificate of deposits with me as the POD beneficiary. Do I have to share these equally with my two sisters? I am the executor of the estate, which is to be divided equally and want to keep part of this non probated money for my executor fees instead of taking it from the estates probated assets. Can I do this without being sued by my sisters? I plan to stay well below the amount I would receive through the courts.

Re: Payable on death help

If they are POD to you, they are yours to keep and they fall outside of probate. You could deduct your fees from the remaining assets that you distribute.
