joint bank account

shortly before my father died ,he put his savings and checking account into a joint account with another daughter. the will states that his belongings and money are to be split up with all the kids. do they have any rights to the money?

The general rule is that the surviving joint tenant is entitled to funds. However, there are exceptions. You stated this was shortly before your father died. This could imply many things that could give the other children a claim to the funds. You should have this looked at by an attorney who specialized in estate administration.
