Legal Question in Criminal Law in Utah

I am seeking legal advise about probation in the state of Utah. I was sentenced to 3yrs. probation and as of December 10,2015 I completed the 3yrs. I got charged with a new case in April of 2015 that I am still fighting and do not go in front of the court until early Feb. 2016. My question is I can the.court still keep me on probation without a hearing to revoke and reinstate my probation? And if not then I served my 3 yrs.that the court sentenced me to and am no longer bound by the state. As they had until December 10 to bring in front of the court to revoke and reinstate?

It is considered a probation violation because it is a new crime that happened during your probation period. (April 2015). It depends on how strong and severe the facts of the new case are and how well you did on your prior probation if you reinstate. It's good to get a good attorney on board with your case that can negotiate a good deal with the prosecutor to avoid significant penalties.
