Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

My divorce was final in mid October. My attorney has not filed my QDRO paperwork with the courts. I have a small unpaid balance on my account, have been making regular payments. Would this be a reason for my attorney to sit on my paperwork? What do I do if I cannot pay the balance in full for several months?

Rather than speculate as to whether your attorney is "sitting"on your paperwork until he is paid, it is best to simply ask him/her why there has been a delay in taking action in your case. Generally, an attorney may cease work on a case if he's not being paid and may actually withdraw from the case. Again, I would recommend you just ask.
