Legal Question in Family Law in Utah

Ex working three jobs

My ex works three jobs and claims I am only entitled to child support based on his full-time job and not his two extra jobs (one of which is under the table). Please let me know if that is the case.

Re: Ex working three jobs

Child support is calculated on gross income from all sources. So part time jobs, bonuses, commissions, and other income are all considered. You should do a calculation from all three jobs. You may also be entitled to alimony for the number of years you were married. Alimony is basically calculated as one-half of the difference between your income (at least full time minimum wage) and his gross income. There may be offsetting considerations, such as which party assumes marital debt, retirement account disposition and other things. Don't sell yourself or your children short - make sure you get all to which you are entitled. Do not let an agressive cheapskate spouse intimidate you into settling for much less just so you can get out of a bad marriage.
