Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Utah

I recently had a wisdom tooth pulled which turned into a terrible infection in my jaw. I had to go to the ER twice and was on IV antibiotics 3 times a day for three days and oral antibiotics for a week after. After getting a cat scan they told me i had extensive jaw damage and might need oral surgery to correct it. Not to mention the Family doctor visits leading up to the Emergency room visits which was also extensive with all kinds of antibiotics and and pain pills. My infection seems to be gone but im still having major trouble opening my jaw more than an inch. My family doctor instructed me to seek out an oral surgeon to evaluate possibly needing another surgery to fix my jaw. Look, I know we all sign paperwork saying they are not liable for some things but this ended up in costing me thousands in aftercare. Bottom line, i don't want to own the dental practice but i need help with my bills and missed work. Should i talk to a lawyer about this?

Absolutely. If the lawyer can determine whether the dentist departed from the normal standard of care, you may be entitled to reimbursement of your medical expenses, time off work, and something for your inconvenience and possible future complications.
