Legal Question in Personal Injury in Utah

I have a debt collector wanting $10,967.95 for damage done to another vehicle that my ex-boyfring caused. I bought a vehicle- put it in my name- he was supposed to make the payments, and carry insurance. he moved to Colorado, and I had to send him money to pay for the insurance, but he used it towards other things. He got in an accident, and totaled my vehicle, and caused damage to two others. He was ticketed for following to closely, and having no insurance. I do not know how to get a hold of him because I have a protective order against him, and I blocked his phone number from calling mine.

You will need to be prepared to defend in court that your b/f used the car beyond the scope of your agreement with him and that you are not responsible for his actions. You will probably be sued and will need to cross claim against the b/f despite the no contact order.
