Is there a minimum amount that must be paid for pain and suffering when someone is injured in the State of Utah?

In general, no. The amount of a pain and suffering award or offer is going to depend on a lot of factors, including the following, among other things: Medical bills, length of time in pain, residual injuries, change in lifestyle. There are lots of other factors. If they think they are not fully liable, they will pay less. If they think the medical bills are too high, they will pay less.

In Utah, you also have the "threshold" requirement. You are unable to receive any damages for pain and suffering unless you first incur at least $3000.00 in medical bills.
