Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Utah

I have been living in my apartment fort 8 months, and paying half the rent along with a roommate paying the other half. About 2 weeks ago, my roommate skipped town. Come to find out, he also took my half of the rent, and left me to pay for everything. On top of that, upon further discussion with the landlord, I am not even on the lease. Do "squatters rights/adverse possession" apply to my situation? Does the landlord have legal right to kick me out with little to no warning, or am I going to be able to claim an additional 30 days to find and raise funds to move into a new apartment?

Based on what y ou have told me, it appears you must move or enter into a new lease with the landlord, if the landlord will allow it.
