Legal Question in Family Law in Vermont

Case Manager Conference/ Hearing

I have a CM Conference/hearing on May 9th, is this something I can bring witnesses to although it is not in front of the judge or magistrate? Or is this a he said/she said venue?

The reason the judge ordered the CM conf. is because I filed a motion to enforce an order. My ex was refusing to let me see our girls. He has sole custody and I have liberal visitation. From the time I filed my motion to now I discovered that my ex has been abusive to my 6 year old daughter and there is domestic violence in the home. I wanted to bring this up when we went to court but discovered that it is with a case manager. Does this make a difference.

Thank you.

Re: Case Manager Conference/ Hearing

In General, the case manager's conference is

not the place for witnesses, etc. It is a

meeting where the case manager tries to get

the parties to agree on some sort of settlement

between the two of them before it goes before

the magistrate. I would be surprised if the

case manager would allow witnesses, nor is it

the forum for abuse alegations.

Hope this helps some. Bernie
