Legal Question in Technology Law in Virginia

Email Harassment

I have been receiving emails through a social network from my ex-husband and his wife. Some of these are threatening, some of them are accusing me of things, all of them are unwanted. I previously have asked them to stop contacting me, since I have stopped responding at all. All to no avail. Is there a legal way to get them to stop contacting me? We have no joint property or children and there is no reason to be in contact. Am I within my rights and within reason to get a restraining order against them? He was very abusive in our relationship and they know where I work, where I live and what I drive. I'm worried.

Re: Email Harassment

You should consult a lawyer about sending them a well worded letter. Keep a copy of a virtual and printed copy of all the emails. Feel free to contact me if you need further help or a referral.
