Legal Question in Technology Law in Virginia

What kind of case do i have?

Last year an individual who has a lot of my boyfriends personal information hacked into his bank accounts and stole thousands of dollars and donated it to random donations. This person also hacked into several of my accounts sending people threatning messages among other things. She has threatened my life and stalked me. She put coke in my boyfriends gas tank causing the car to come to a complete stop on the onramp of I-95 with three people in the car. These are just some of the things this person has done in the past year. We have a police report, the reports from the banks, the insurance claim for the car, a copy of the complaint filed on FTC.gov, the ip address that much of the hacking occured from, and a copy of a conversation between the hacker and myself where the threats took place. The money from the bank accounts has already been refunded from the places it was donated to, we dont want any money from the individual what we really want to know is if we take this person to court could the individual go to jail? And if so how do I go about taking them to court?

Re: What kind of case do i have?

You would need to talk to the police and Commonwealth's Attorney about a criminal case. There is no jail time involved in any civil case, which is typically a suit for monetary damages. Feel free to email if you need further help.
