Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

My girlfriend and I bought a car together, we also took out a loan and insurance together. We broke and she took over the car and it's payments. Our insurance just ended and she still owed money towards it and they are now coming after me. What should I do? Also her new partner is paying for the loan presently, can she have a say in anything even though her name is not on any papers?

If your name is on the title/registration to this vehicle, then you'll have to pay the insurance that is owed on it.

And, yes, if this (former) girlfriend made various payments towards the loan

as well as the insurance for this vehicle, she might at some point attempt

to assert an equitable claim for at least part ownership of it (in my opinion).
