Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

The plaintiff's lawyer in my collections case filed a Nonsuit last month. They are now asking to move the date that it is called on the docket from tomorrow's date to the end of the month.

What reason would the lawyer have for moving the date that the nonsuit is called?

The new date they are asking for the nonsuit to be called on the docket is five days before the trial was orginally set.

Is it at all possible for the lawyer to somehow "withdraw" the Nonsuit they filed when it is called and have the trial still occur on the 29th?

I am concerned they are attempting to throw me off and still take me to trial even though they filed a Nonsuit but it has not been called in court yet.

No, your concern is not merited and the Court is not going to

tolerate any action by the plaintiff''s lawyer "to throw (you) off"

in order to take advantage of you as the defendant.
