In Virginia, felonies are broken down into classes: Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, Class 4 and Class 5. Each has a different level of penalty.

A Class U felony is a felony that is unclassified. That is, it does not fall into any of the above categories. The specific penalty for a Class U offense is indicated in the statutory section of the offense itself. Look at the code section for whatever you are charged with. It will show the penalty in that section.

A lawyer would help, especially if you are charged with a felony.
