Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Misdeamnors and Employment

What, if any, recourse does a person have to remove a misdeamnor theft from their record? It happened when the person was 22 they are now 29. Restitution was made, no incidents before or after, held jobs since and served honorably in the US Army since also. Trying to find government job or one in security field. Thanks.

Criminal convictions are not expungable in the Commonwealth of Virginia unless you can prove that you were wrongly convicted and have received a pardon from the governor.
