Legal Question in DUI Law in Virginia

In 1999 I was convicted of DUI in Richmond, Va. and it was my first and only DUI offense. Under Virginia law at that time would this have been a traffic violation or a misdemeanor?

A class 1 criminal misdemeanor offense and not a traffic infraction.
