Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Can anyone help me with child custody laws for Va? My sons father is trying to win primary custody from me because I moved. Hes claiming that the distance (40 miles) is too far for him to maintain visitation. We have a custody, visitation, and support agreement in Va and I need to file in North Carolina. He has a very long criminal background including Felony drug charges and abuse of a spouse. He is also currently wanted by the state of California.

Please help,

Concerned Mom

So, are you in violation of the provision in this agreement which

requires you to give advance notice of at least 30 days

of any intended move on your part to this father as well as the appropriate court which is involved with this matter?

If so, then you may have a problem which could be worth hiring an

attorney to represent you in the situation described.
