if i am filing for divorce in germany but have gotten married here in virginia is my new marriage void and can i suffer any bigamy crimes?

Yes, per Va Code Sec. 20-.38.1, your new marriage is void and without legal validity. However,

whether you will or could be prosecuted for the crime of bigamy, would be normally up to the

determination of the local Commonwealth's Attorney who would be responsible

for such a matter.
