Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

My son

I have been separated since 1996. I always paid my child support to my ex-wife. My son who is now 16, (17 in Oct.) lives with my daughter(23), has quit high school, and now is working on his own. I know I have an obligation to continue to pay child support, does it still continue even though all reguards of the separation agreement have changed? i.e. my son is making money on his own?

Re: My son

No. Your son appears to be emancipated; he's no longer living with his mother, he's not in school, and he's (somewhat) self-supporting.

It would be prudent to have your ex sign an agreed order terminating child support, since your son's emancipation raises a factual issue.
