How long after being fired for medical absences can one sue the company?

How long after a person is fired can they sue the company under the Family and Medical Leave Act?

Limitations in FMLA cases

A suit under the Family and Medical Leave Act must be brought within 2 years after the violation; 3 years in the case of willful violations (you don't want to have to rely on the latter).
