Yes, under the doctrine of fair use which has been codified at Sec. 107 of Title 17 U.S.C. the various situations

in which a copyrighted work may be reproduced by another are outlined and include such purposes as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Section 107 also describes the four factors to be considered as to whether or not a particular use is in fact fair under this doctrine.
