Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Is it legal for a law firm to garnish my wages for a credit card debt that is about 13 years old and I have not been notified by the law firm prior to Aug. 2 , 2015. I never received a warrant of debt as the address on the garnishment is over 10 years old. The summons reads a judgement was filed in 2008 which is 6 years and 9 months from garnishment date. According to what I read Va. has 3 to 5 years SOL on credit card debt .

So, yes, of course, you should contest it, beginning with the court which

supposedly first issued this particular garnishment and request a hearing

on the matter ASAP..
