If someone staying in your home that is not a family member decides to leave. How long do they have to return to get their belongings before you can do away with it in the state of va?

Send the person written notice: 30 days to come and pick up his or her stuff from the date of receipt of letter, if the person is nearby, 60 days, if far away, e.g. across the country; otherwise you will dispose of it as you see fit.
