Re: renewal of resindency

I don't know, I only do a little in immigration law.

But I would be VERY concerned.

That is, I would get an immigration lawyer and make sure that you do everything right in re-applying.

I assume that you mean that he had 3 felonies AFTER he got his last visa or status? If it was already covered under his previous application and dealt with, then maybe not. But if he has 3 NEW felonies since the last time, and he is reapplying, yes I think he could have trouble.

Re: renewal of resindency

His conviction may affect him, certainly. All depends on the crime for which he was convicted. It sounds to me as if he was released from any imprisonment, yes? That is good. He is still a lawful permanent resident, but he SHOULD NOT TRAVEL OUT OF THE COUNTRY AT THIS TIME. For a good assessment of your husband's problem, and how it will affect his immigration status, please don't hesitate to call our Gallows Road Office. Take care.

Re: renewal of resindency

Your husband should be careful in attempting to renew his "green card". If he has in fact been convicted of what U.S. immigration authorities consider an "aggavated felony"(not easily defined), he could well find himself placed in removal proceedings before an Immigration Court as a result of his attempt to renew his lawful permanent residency status during which process his conviction of the felony offense is likely to come to light.
