Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

How many days notification must I give, by law, should I desire to terminate my employment with my employer?

I have a job offer letter which states I must give thirty (30) days notice in writing and by phone if I wish to terminate my employment.

There is no such requirement in Virginia "by law" as far as I am aware. (The employer, of course, is generally free to attempt to impose whatever requirement related to this issue as it sees fit. However, FYI, "a job offer letter" from a company to a prospective employee usually does not amount to an enforceable contract.)
