Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

We are a private summer swim team in a gated community. In the past we hire swim coaches for the summer. Our team has required all Jr. coaches who are hired to also swim for the team. Is this a legal practice. We have never had a Jr. coach who wanted to just coach and not swim but this could happen in the future and we want to cover our bases. Getting 15-18 year old swimmers for the summer program is hard because they want to get jobs and make money. Years ago they decided to make it mandatory if hired as a Jr. coach they must also swim for the team. Is this ok for the swim team to do? Any information would be helpful. Many thanks.

I can't imagine any legal reason as to why it wouldn't be (my opinion).
