Legal Question in Employment Law in Virginia

Question - I recently signed an offer letter and sent it back to the company. The next week I randomly received a new offer letter from the same company with an increase in pay rate. I then signed the new letter and emailed it in which I received documented confirmation of its acceptance (as well as verbal via phone) from an HR recruiter. So I was curious that IF this was a mistake would they be obligated to abide by the latest offer letter considering it has been signed and that I have documentation of its acceptance?
