Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

I am currently renting a house. On several occasions, my landlord has contacted my friend about my rent. My friend is not on my lease, I never gave him my friends number, nor have I ever given him permission to contact my friend about my rent or anything else. Is this legal?

No, apparently not if your lease is covered under the Virginia Residential Landlord Tenant Act (VRLTA) as described under Va. Code Sec. 55-248.9:1.
