Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Abandoned Motor

I bought a car motor over a year ago and when I was installing it, I discovered it was broken and didnt work. I called the place and they sent me a full refund and said that they would come and pick up the motor. It has been a year and they still havent picked up the motor. How long does the motor have to be left on my property before I can claim ownership? Do I have to contact them anymore or is the ball in their court?

Re: Abandoned Motor

Friend, the motor by now belongs to you to dispose of as you see fit.

All you need do, without notifying anyone or further ado, is merely say to yourself: "This abandoned motor now belongs to me and I shan't give it up now to no one."

Legal title shall then be vested in you.
