Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

A friend has her adult daughter and granddaughter living in her home. they don't contribute anything to the household and are actually disruptive to my friends home and life. She was told that she could not evict them because they receive mail at the address. That sounds wrong to me. They live in Henrico, VA.

Yes, it is absolutely wrong, but in order to evict these freeloaders your

friend will have to file the necessary paperwork in the local general district

court that is normally required of any landlord who wishes to evict a tenant from

his or her premises.
