Settlement agents

My sales contract has two settlement agents listed, one for me (buyer) and a different agency for the seller. Can there be two? Who pays the fees for each?

Usually there is one settlement agent. I suggest you have an independent attorney review the documentation for you.

As the buyer, you may choose who will close this transaction for you. Further, you do not have to use the settlement agent recommended to you. I would suggest that you retain an attorney to handle this real estate closing for you as this sounds a bit odd.
