Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

1st offense, driving with a suspended license

I go to court tomorrow and need some last minute advice. In November i was pulled over for expired tags and the officer informed me that i was driving with a suspended license. I didn't know this was the case or i would have made alternate arrangements. It turns out that an expired inspection ticket that i had received that I couldn't pay because of financial hardship and that caused the suspension. The officer took my license and told me to go home and get this cleared up and to show up at court. The next business day I paid the late ticket and paid to get my license reinstated. I have receipts of all paid tickets and just need to know any last advice. I'm very nervous since I've never gotten tickets before and would really appreciate some tips or what I should do when i go to court tomorrow.

Re: 1st offense, driving with a suspended license

This question has already been addresed some time ago. My instructions were to go see the prosecutor assigned to your case in the little room (outside the courtroom)before court begins and inform him or her that you had no notice of the license suspension and that you've paid the ticket and the license reinstatement fee and then present your receipts.
