Changing credit card names after bankruptcy and attempting to continue to collec

My bankruptcy was final in 6/2000. Since then one of the credit card companies have sold out and the new owners are attempting to collect on the debt. What can be done to stop this?

I'll assume everything was in order for the original discharge order - if that is the case, then it certainly applies to this debt. You will probably be able to resolve this by mailing them a copy of that Order - they would be in violation of it & subject to sanctions from the BK court. This comes up time to time (bad bookkeeping?) ... anyway, if you have a problem, let me know,
