Legal Question in Disability Law in Washington

Ramp

I rented a place in WA. The landlords knew that my husband who is disabled would be joining me. Who is responsible to build the ramp? My landlords told me they would take care of it before I signed the lease, but are now backing out.

Re: Ramp

Unfortunately, if you didn't put that in writing as part of the lease, you may be screwed UNLESS there is some reason that the landlord would be required to put in the ramp.

If it is a large apartment building, your odds are way better than if it's a single unit.

Please send me the details. Anything you say will be confidential.

Ms. Kogut is correct as usual. The fact that you are married to a person with a disability helps to establish your case.

She's great at this - you should call her.
