Legal Question in Business Law in Washington

Gift certificates - performance tickets

We, as a church, produce a winter musical each year. In the past we have sold gift certificates that allow people to purchase tickets to the performance of their choice for that particular season. With the new gift certificaite/card laws that prohibit expiration date, how can we sell ''certificates'' that are only good for that season? We have always stated on the past certificates that they expire on the last performance.

This is very precise point of law which will require an attorney to research the facts and possibly request a letter ruling from Department of Revenue. There really is no alternative to spending the money to get a valid legal opinion.
