Legal Question in Technology Law in Washington

surfing internet porn

While surfing the internet for entertainment, I come across and sometimes seek out pornographic material. Some sites warn that their content isn't legal in every country. I don't download, save, or archive anything. I don't surf through sites that have models under 18 years old.

How do I know if a sites content is illegal in my state? I think my state defers to the federal government for obscenity definitions. Do I need to worry about this since I don't save or print anyting?

Re: surfing internet porn

While there are few simple answers in this area, you usually cannot be prosecuted for what you are just looing at. If you are selling or dealing in illicit types of pornography (such as child porn), then you do have exposure for criminal prosecution.
