Re: conviction or not?

If he entered a plea of guilty or was found guilty after a trial, he was convicted. For many purposes, he is still considered to have an adverse disposition even if he received a deferred sentence and subsequent dismissal.

If he entered any of the following dispositions AND the charge was dismissed, he was not convicted:

> stay of proceedings

> continuance for dismissal

> deferred prosecution

> diversion

> stipulated order of continuance

> any other agreement providing for a dismissal upon successful completion of conditions
