Legal Question in Employment Law in Washington

Time clock

Is it illegal for a manager to go into a timeclock and change my time to a later time for any reason? I clocked in at 6:30am and because I was talking to another employee she looked up my social security number and clocked me in at a later time. She did not tell me and even wrote me up for being late when I was not late. I was talking to the other employee about my work schedule. I found out two days later when I happened to glance down at my time sheet. I kept my time in sheet and took it to management. Its been seven days and still nothing has been done about it. My time has not been changed back either. I've had many incidences with this manager, and most employess have had them with her as well, and she has even went as far as calling me racist for no reason at all. As well as many other employees. And nothing was done to my knowlege about that either. Do I have a case? Is there anything I can do? I''m going up my chain of command but I'm getting no where. It seems no one wants to help me.

Re: Time clock

You didn't say how much later she changed it for. If it's a small amount, I'd let it go. Meanwhile, have you talked with your HR people?

If the manager has changed the time for a lot of people, you may all have a claim against the company. But if she's just been mean and nasty to everyone, you simply have a bad manager and there's little you can do.
