Legal Question in Personal Injury in Washington

First Accident

car accident 7 days ago. lady missed a stop and ran into me. two children in the car. daughter (8) bumped her head. She got dizzy and a little sick to her tummy but after 30 minutes she seemed fine and I didn't take her in to the doctor. son (11) was in the front seat not hurt. I was injured in my left shoulder and neck/back area. I refused the ambulance but went directly to the doctor. I recieved a notice from the doctor saying no work for one day.(He said three days but it happened on a thursday and I don't work weekends) I have been in constant pain since the accident. My car was older a 87. I was told by the car shope that it was totaled. The lady that hit us admitted to the officer that it was her fault.

So here is my question. I have no car to drive at this time. I have been taking the bus. Not that I could drive a car with my shoulder like this anyway. I have read ''If you don't like the settlement get a lawyer'' What would be a good settlement? I talked briefly with her insurance guy and he was such a jerk. Is there a time limit for getting a check? Is there anything I can do about getting a car before I get the check? I will stop there. Thank You

Re: First Accident

You bring up many typical questions. I suggest you get in treatment with a medical doctor and determine the cause and origin of you pain problems. Secondly, you have run up agains the typical insurer approach and I can help you if you wish. I work on a contingency fee which means you don't pay hourly fees but a percentage of the recovery if there is one plus costs.
