Legal Question in Personal Injury in Washington

A claim was made against me on an accident 2 years 11 months ago

I was in an accident that happend exactly 2 years 11 months ago. It involved 5 cars and i was the last car (not the one that caused it). The car was paid off by my insurance company and i did nothing else about it or heard anything. Just yesterday, someone knocked on my door and gave me a packet of papers and said i was being sued by the passenger of the third car in the accident. The papers were signed and dated Aug. 12 05 and said i have 20 days to reply or the case will be won in favor of the plaintiff. I got the papers on sept. 20 05 and no idea what to do???

You should contact your insurance agent immediately. Your insurer likely provides defense and indemnity for claims araisng from the use of the car. They will be able to help you from there.
