It depends on what the power of attorney says as to whether you have authority to do so or not.

Serving as attorney-in-fact you have potential liability and it is advised to seek legal counsel before embarking on such a serious matter as an attorney-in-fact. If it does not have merit, you could have liability for initiating such an action on her behalf.
