Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Washington

Does home belong only to whoever is on title?

I wanted to buy a house but was unable to get a loan so my parents bought a home in their name and I moved in. I put down money towards it to show them it was part mine. I was to buy it back from them at what it was worth when I got the loan which was anticipated in 2 or 3 years. I never qualified for a loan and I've lived there for about 6 years without paying rent. I want to sell it and pay them back what I owe them for rent and other things they bought and I was to make payments on but couldn't about $50K and they won't let me saying its their home .

Can they do that. They issued an eviction notice on me.

Unfortunately, unless you have an agreement to the contrary, it is techincally their home.

That said, if you put down a significant amount of money, you may be able to make an argument that they owe the money to you.
