Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Washington

Quiet title

I purchased 7 lots in Ocean Shores, WA on a note and deed of trust 10 years ago. We never recieved anything from the sellers acknowledging the fulfillment of the payments. The last payments were about 5 years ago. What document is required to give us clear title? One of the sellers may have died in the meantime.

Re: Quiet title

Did a title company assist in the transaction? They usually retain a fulfillment deed once the note is paid off. Otherwise, you'll need a written satisfaction of the note and fullfilment deed. It should be okay if one of the parties has passed away if the other can acknowledge that the note has been paid off. You may wish to speak with an attorney to provide you with the proper forms.
