Re: Resposibility of a tenant for a guest

My initial response would be no, but it depends.

1. What does your lease/rental agreement say? Are you responsible for your guests while they are on the landlord's property, even common areas over which you have no control? Was it your carport? If so, was it such that you could exert control over it?

2. Did you have any part in his jumping on the carport? Did you encourage him or fail to stop him? Or did he do this independently of your ability to direct or restrain him?
