Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Washington

Sellers disclosure requirements

I recently purchased a house and property and have now been informed by neighbors that the owner of the property next to mine (the local airport) has been planning to build a gun club, with the guns pointed in our direction. The neighbors are trying to stop the project, but I want to know if the gentleman who sold the property to me should legally have disclosed the fact that there was a legal battle going on between my neighbors and the airport, in order to stop the gun club construction. Also, shouldn't the real estate broker been obligated to have informed me of any potential problems with the property I was purchasing?

Re: Sellers disclosure requirements

The sellers have a duty to disclosed problems with the property, not adjacent properties or potential uses of adjacent properties. However, if they knew that the gun shop was a definate project that would likely be approved, they might have an obligation to disclose it.
