Legal Question in Traffic Law in Washington

Do I need an attorney

On 7-3-06 I was shopping with my children, ages 7 & 5, after shopping, I went back into the store to get my items but left the children in a locked running vehicle. A citizen reported me and I just recieved a summons to appear in court in one week. RCW 46.61.685.

What am I facing as far as penalties and do I need representation? I have no prior record not even a speeding ticket. I am just a stay at home ''soccer mom'' that made a poor judgement call.

This offense is a misdemeanor. The penalties are up to 90 days in jail and up to $1,000 fine or both on a first conviction. You definitelky need a lawyer to appear for you because this is a criminal traffic offense. Your record will be a positive factor in how your case is concluded. Having done this for 25 years, you can get a good result if you hire a competent lawyer. If you wish to discuss this matter. contact me at 425.501.8889.

Your are being charged with a misdemeanor. The maximum penalties are 90 days in Jail and a $1000 fine. I believe you will get a better plea if you retain counsel. If you have any questions, or would like to speak to me about this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me.
